One of the new products, that i imported from Czechia to give a chance to easy buy this rare and unknown film from early talking cinema from Eastern Europe. As you can see on my EBay accounts, there’s many of Eastern European films available. This was my primary goal to promote cinematography from this part of the world and make money on it. However, it’s not easy to generate any serious income selling only films from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and others. Therefore i added music and books to enlarge variety. It was still not selling well. When i started selling second hand films, music, books, video games and comic books, the business begun giving me satisfaction.

Still, the biggest joy gives me selling something from East to someone from West. I always try to find something unique, weird, something from the bottom of gnosis to add to my collection.

So this is Řeka. Řeka [The River] is a dramatic story about Pavel, the mayor’s son, who loves the natural beauty of the Sázava region. One day, he decides to bring joy to his sweetheart, Pepinka—a girl from a poor family who has never owned a pair of shoes. In a deep pool in the river lurks an old pike, for which a local hotelier has offered a reward of 200 crowns. Pavel resolves to catch the fish so he can buy Pepinka a pair of shoes and a blouse. He succeeds in hooking the pike, but during the fierce struggle, his clothes are swept away; they are later discovered by some raftsmen, leading the entire village to believe that Pavel has drowned...
